POST CHRISTMAS SALES ROUNDUP

Ahh post-Christmas sales is something everyone looks forward to even though they are exhausted from shopping pre-Christmas (you gotta love the retail world). They say some of the best deals are offered after Christmas where you get the real bang for your buck. However, his might not be so exciting for sales associate because they get bombarded with tons of returns of all the gifts people did not really want. That is beside the point, since sales are so yummy one can not resist. Here is a round up of all the major stores and what they are offering.

BLOOMINGDALES:

Bloomingdales is discounting up to 75% off on men and women.

SAKS:

Saks has taken off up to 70% off (in stores today 8am-noon) but online it will last up till December 27th. 

NEIMAN MARCUS:

Save up to 60% off and some sale items have extra 25 - 30% off online and in-stores as well.

TORY BURCH:

DVF Sale *UPDATE*

I swung by the DVF sample sale on 5th ave. today hoping that they have further slashed their prices and as expected they did! Given the chilly weather, people were relentless and waiting outside but the good thing was that the line wasn't that long and moving at a decent pace. I would say max 20 minutes of wait or less and you are checking your coat and bag to the left.

Now inside, there were a lot of people, hangers going every which way. You have to be careful, people are so busy picking stuff that they might just poke you with the hanger and they won't even know (Sad- I know what designer discounts can do to you). Now apart from all the mayhem, the current prices are as stated below and there is still a lot of goodies you can find. There were plenty of dresses ($100- not that many wraps), not that many tops ($60) either, a lot of crop purple wool jackets - no one seems to want them ($90) and accessories such as laptop cover ($40- great gift idea), clutches ($30), and Bags ($170) were plenty. There was a section of sample/damages where people were finding a lot of decent stuff such as dresses and tops which were all for $30. Other than that people were hoarding around like usual and if you are trying things on, you have only 10 minutes in the fitting room. There is this small Latin american woman directing/guarding the fitting room line (she is there every DVF sample sale) if you are thinking of sneaking in, don't even think about it, you won't get around her.

Tomorrow is the last day and chances are they will double slash prices - like dresses will become $80 and tops will become $40. So hurry, I'm sure you will find something.

*FRIENDLY TIP* Go early in the morning that is when they are most organized and you can find better stuff that way. Other than that Happy Holidays Shopping!

CHANTECAILLE SALE *UPDATE*

*UPDATE*

I tired making it to this sale as early as possible and ended up there around noon. I thought that was a decent time given that it is the first day of the sale and only been two hours into the sale. To my surprise, most of the stuff was already gone, especially, the rose water ($10), milk cleanser ($10), skin care value sets ($160, $200) and Nano-gold set ($330). They did have plenty of bronzers, highlighters, eye-shadow kits, eye-shadows, make-up value sets, shower-gels and candles. The prices were all ranging from $25 to $50 and some were $70. All and all, if you are a fan of this line, its likely that you will find stuff for yourself or for gift giving (which is not a bad idea). I did ask if they will restock, they said mostly with the compacts and make-up related stuff and they do not have anymore skin-care value set and the like. I also try to press if they will slash prices but people at the register were clear that these prices were final. Good Luck my dear shoppers and enjoy some luxury make-up and here are some things I bought.

Here is a review of some of the sample sales I attended yesterday. I know I'm a bit late at informing but nonetheless, if you are planning to hit these sales tomorrow, this is what you need to know.

NANETTE LEPORE:

They have plenty of samples left and they are marked down on the tags. All the prices are different depending on what you are getting. I saw a white wool coat for $180 which was a sample. What a day, I must say! To sum it up, it was the most amazing, yummiest high-end designer sale that you can't get enough of, breaks your bank, yet there is no regret that it did. I had the most wonderful time just browsing around this VIP sale and the associates that are working are also very helpful.

Be warned my friends that the wait to get inside the sale is really long, even today! By the time I came out with my goodies, it was almost 4:30pm and I got inside around 12:30pm. Number one reason for this annoying wait is that there are only THREE cash registers that are cashing people out and the line for people to pay is so long that it takes about two hours for them to pay. By the time I got out, the line for people to get in was so long that it went around the corner all the way on 6th ave. and people stopped me and asked if it was even worth waiting for this (Yes it was, and I felt truly bad for them because they were letting people in at a snail pace). 

All and all, the sale was truly fantastic; there was enough for everyone to buy, especially people on a budget. The accessories like wallets and scarves are only $50 (Seriously?! - I'm still in disbelief). YSL flats are only for $100 which is pretty fantastic because all these prices are dirt cheap comparatively to their retails prices. Moreover, I was able to score a sweater that was $995 retail, and I paid only $100. Also, there were perfumes for men and women, few body lotions and creams, few make-up compacts, and all were for $10. They will be restocking tomorrow and the last day, I've heard the associate say that there will be further price reductions (that usually means that everything is basically picked through-still worth it!). This sale, I can not say it enough, was the best sale I have attended this entire year. 

I also want to apologize that I was not able to present you with too many pictures (as I was just busy lugging around so much merchandise that my arm almost fell off) but I do have one and I would like to say the picture is worth a thousand words. 

Pointers for tomorrow: Please go in early so you have enough time to wait. Sale will be starting at 8am and ending at 8pm. Please choose your time wisely as they will be replenishing tomorrow.

BLOOMINGDALES FRIENDS AND FAMILY EVENT

Bloomingdales F&F is officially starting on Sept. 30th till Oct. 3rd but it has already begun online. As usual, exclusions apply to premiere designers such as Chanel, Dior, Fendi and etc (you get the point). Nonetheless, since fall is here and we all have to revamp (at least, I do) our wardrobe, this extra 20% Off is pretty good. D&G S/S12 COLLECTION: LAST OF ITS KIND

Dolce and Gabbana's diffusion line, D&G, showed its very last show in Milan Fashion Week. The word is D&G will become part of Dolce and Gabbana thereby giving it more strength and power. That's why, Domenico and Stefano decided to have a finale collection that will remind everyone of D&G and its legacy. The show was  characterized by silk foulard that were transformed into tunics, dresses, pants, shoes and incorporated in other accessories. It was extremely upbeat, refreshing mishmash of colors and prints.

One can imagine seeing these beautiful clothes graced by celebrities and kind, and becoming red carpet delight.

NUDE OBSESSION

Nude, nude, nude and details! I saw this pair of nude pump by Christian Louboutin, Duvette, and they are absolutely divine. The gold tip and gold wrap around the shoe makes this pair perfect for holiday season. The fact they are $675 a pair, still doesn't deter me from buying them for this season. Maybe, Ill just wait a tad bit to see if I can find them on a wee-bit of discount somewhere, which is highly unlikely!

Another pair I loved from Louboutin are round toe pump, Helmour, cost $595, also very sweet looking. Not an equal alternative to the one above, but very agreeable.

Although, both above are my 1st and 2nd choices, I found these chic pair of Sam Edelman with a cute studded bow for $175. If my heart doesn't beat too fast for the two above, I might settle on this less expensive, while mildly denting my wallet, beautiful nude pair of pumps.

CHANEL "ILLUSIONS D'OMBRES" - MAKEUP LOOK

Chanel new "Illusions D'Ombres" for fall is shimmering long-wear eye shadow. Its has gel-mousse like texture that is very soft and cushiony to touch and it is to be worn as an overall eye shadow or an eye-liner. It comes in six different shades and I'm completely in love with the texture and its quality. My favorite colors in this eye-shadow are Illussoire, Emerveille, and Epatant.

LONDON STREETS ARE CALLING

London streets are calling for high fashion during London Fashion Week. Brits are awfully well-dressed and have very English-sense of style. They are always carrying an umbrella, wearing a sweater, a hat or something that protects them from muggy, damp weather. Even though the weather is mostly cloudy and unpredictable, they dress up to impress.
