**UPDATE** DVF SAMPLE SALE

*UPDATE* Despite the burning heat, today I made a quick trip to DVF sample sale and there were no lines outside. Inside like always, it was a mayhem but there was a price cut! Dresses are going for $100, blouses for $60, sweaters for $60, Samples for $30, T-shirts for $15, Pants for $40, and Coats for $250. However, if you wait till tomorrow, you will see the prices of these dresses will go down to $75 and further cuts for other items and styles. All and all, the sale was pretty blah then last time. Everything is basically picked out and the nice dresses were no where to be seen. People with small sizes 0-4 will have a hard time finding wrap dresses of their size but larger sizes like 8 and above are still plenty. Moreover, there were a lot of cashmere, jackets and sweaters which is kind of hard to think about or try on in this heat. There are some light cardigans going for $50 then again there will be a huge price cut by tomorrow. Also, they are not allowing any bottled drinks to be carried inside the sale area so might as well hide it or dump it before entering. 

Who doesn't love DVF's prints and designs and that too, when you find them on real discounted prices. The perfect timing of this sale in this summer heat couldn't have been more exciting. The sale officially started today, June 07, 2011. There are many other bloggers who have reported on this sale such as our fellow Mizhattan, and sample sally. They have said the prices are similar to last year and from experience, I have learned that last day is when they give further discounts.

According to Sample Sally, this is what the sale looked like from outside on the preview day and the listing of prices below. I suspect that line would be even longer given today is the first day so I would suggest go near the closing time or go a day or two later when the rush and all the mayhem subsides. Also, you might see the prices will slash a bit more closer towards the end. Happy Shopping!

BARNEYS SPRING SALE - UP TO 40% OFF

It's getting really hot here in the city and what's a better way to beat this heat is enjoying these upcoming sales by staying indoors. What I love about a department store sale is that one can find all the different designers under one roof making shopping easier and also saving some cab money. To our excitement, Barneys is hosting a spring sale which is  up to 40% off and it can be shopped through their website or at their department store. 

While sitting at work, I decided to give a quick browse on their website and found that there are plenty of Manolos on sale, along with Pierre Hardy, Giuseppe Zanotti, Lanvin, Miu Miu, and many more designers. In the women section, there are few Givenchy bags almost half off, and a Fendi clutch that is also almost 50% off. There are also plenty of clothing styles from casual to party wear and some Joanthan Adler home goods on sale.
