SUMMER WISH LIST

As the temperature is soaring, there is a great need to change up and add appropriate products to the beauty routine. These are some of the new products that caught our attention and we are eager to try them. If you own any of them, please leave a comment below and share your thoughts.

1. Kerastase Cristalliste $36
    Designed for women with long hair and dry ends. Kerastase is a revolutionary company and this new product seems to promise the results every woman desires.
2. Chantecaille Just Skin tinted moisturizer  $65
    Moisturizer, foundation and sunscreen, all in one. This product, although, not very long lasting but very light-weight and moisturizing. Plus point, it already has SPF 15 (According to SPF research, higher the value does not mean more protection. A good amount applied on the skin is sufficient to ensure sun protection)
3. Lancer Glycolic 10% Facial Cream $50
    A very efficient and my favorite ingredient in moisturizers is Glycolic acid. It easily penetrates the skin and allows other products in the cream to penetrate as well. Helps clear hyper-pigmentation, acne and wrinkles. On the side note, Victoria Beckham seems to like this brand. Looking at her, it's definitely worth a try.

SALE: ROUND UP OF DEPARTMENT STORES

Post-Memorial day weekend, we are seeing all the major department stores are preparing to markdown their spring/summer collection. The list of these stores are as follow:

1. Saks:

    Their markdown is 40% and has already started online but the sale in stores start on 5/31 to 6/2.

2. Barneys:

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR "END-ALL" MOISTURIZER

We all are looking for that secret jar of beauty, a moisturizer that would put an end for all the time we spend on beauty. We run around in drug-stores, high-end department stores, searching for a product that will give us that "Hollywood" glow. But we always end up realizing that we wasted our money with the same disappointment, an expensive product with no satisfactory results. Yet we are so relentless, because we continue the search nonetheless.

In the midst of searching, there is one product that I always wanted to try and heard some really promising reviews, The Revive Moisturizer. Does it really work? Is it worth spending hundred some dollars on it? I pondered many times. So here is the deal, Saks is hosting a Revive Moisturizer Exchange Event in NYC and Beverly Hills on May 24th. You can bring in your daily moisturizer and they will exchange it for The Revive Moisturizer. That way, you don't have to spend the money and get to try a really awesome product. I don't know about you, but this sounds like something that one should not miss!

Unfortunately, this only applies to people in New York (visitors or residents) and Beverly Hills. Please don't moan over this, you can always ask for free samples at the nearest Revive counter.

STYLE OBSESSED: SUMMER CHIC

Summer is upon us and I'm scrambling to put together some ultra chic outfit for my getaway. Something predictable and comfortable at the same time, and then I came across this, Tuula by Jessica Stein showing us how it's done. She looks so effortlessly chic; pairing crop shorts with Zara men shirt and white blazer, perfection! And let me just say, those shoes are gorgeous by Alexander Wang and really give the outfit that edge it needs.

This summer there are few shoe trends to follow, color blocking is one of them. BEAUTY LINE FOR CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN

Many sources have reported that Christian Louboutin is venturing into beauty business. He is collaborating with Battalure Beauty to create a luxurious beauty products known as Christian Louboutin Beaute. It was reported by Vogue UK that this direction was a natural step for him as he "likes to empower women". When WWD asked about his beauty icon, he admires the limestone bust of nefertiti at the Neues museum of Berlin to be a perfect beauty.

Louboutin shoes are the cream of the crop of shoe world, and I can only expect the beauty line to be as high-end. I'm sure we can all imagine red being a major part of his collection. Either way I can't wait for this line which is set to launch late 2013.

Just when I take a break from shopping and count my finances, there comes in another sample sale that springs me out of my chair. Although Loeffler Randall sample sale happens bi-annually, I still get extremely excited as if it was the first time. The reason is the comfort and downtown chic style of the shoes. They are always beautifully crafted hence I can never pass up on this sale. So here it is, I hope you share the same feelings toward this brand as I do and enjoy the sale starting May 17th till May 19th.

SAMPLE SALE: CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN

As most of you already know, the mother of all sample sales, the bi-annual Christian Louboutin dates have been announced. This is an invite-only sale, where press and employee's friends and family are admitted and enjoy deep discounts on the shoes. No, it's NOT open to public and word is, who has ever tried to get in have been turned away. There is a rigorous process of checking the list with security everywhere so if you want to try your luck, you may and hope they might just let your pretty face in.

Although this is disappointing for most of us, there is a bi-annual retail Christian Louboutin Sale every year in June/July and December/January which I will let you know as soon as I would have the dates. Trust me, it is much peaceful than hoarding, standing in lines, and watching women just going crazy in a small room.

MET GALA FAVORITE: GWYNETH PALTROW

While everyone opted for long flowy glittery gowns at the Met Gala, Gwyneth Paltrow stole the show in daring halter Prada minidress. There are not many red carpet stars who can put on a side show and look elegant doing it.  The dress's hemline was shorter in the front and longer in the back and also had two soft paillettes pocket and a plunging back that added the drama the dress needed. She also wore perfect accessories with beautiful earrings, copper satin clutch, gunmetal pumps and not to mention, her perfect glowing skin. The 39-year old was an eye candy with perfectly toned body for her age. It seems like Gwyneth Paltrow can never get it wrong. J'adore Gwyneth!

As pastels are the hottest trend this season, I find myself loving everything in pastel. This new bag from See by Chloe when I saw on Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad, I was totally in love! The pretty blue and the details on the flap has that modern girly look without being too girly (if that makes any sense!). Point being, you can't go wrong with anything in pastel this season. We can take a cue from Chiara below as she wears pastels really well.

April showers bring May flowers and Sample Sales. Another one of my favorite designers having their sample sale starting May 15th. From past experiences at these sales, they always have tons of merchandise on racks but the prices are not exactly cheap. A beautiful dress can cost $100+ and some coats can cost $300 or more. They also have sample racks and boxes where tops and dresses with no size tags usually go for $50. Last sample sale, they also had runway shoes for $50 each. All the details about the sale can be found above with the timing and location.
