We are currently loving the line-up of all the sample sales and to add to it, J. Crew is hosting one just when all the major ones are happening. As epic as DVF sample sales are, J. Crew is not any less epic with much more affordable price tag. The sale will include women apparel (dresses, shoes, jewelry), Men's clothing, and Crewcuts for kids. Expect few pieces from Madewell and enjoy up to 60% off retail. So gear up my readers for sample sale mania.
What to expect? Large crowd, affordable luxury and very awesome prices.

It has been unseasonably chilly but that did not stop J. Crew from kicking off its' sample sale for VIP and the press. Yesterday, we were fortunate enough to join them late afternoon and see what it has to offer on the public day. So here is what we found at the sale. Go.
The sale as per usual held in the mecca of all sample sales. Upon entering, you will encounter racks and racks of clothing with front section filled with women's apparel and left corner, with men's. Women's section consist of all American basic apparel, mixed with silk tops, button down shirts, skirts, dresses, shorts and sweaters. There are tons of everything, for example dresses are $60, tops/blouses ($30), sweaters ($30), t-shirts ($15), Jackets ($60) and pants/jeans ($40). Those of us who are looking for Madewell, there are only two small racks filled with blouses, sweaters and shorts ($25) including samples. There was also a small section of J. Crew collection but the prices were not very appealing considering it is a sample sale. Be prepared to spend $100+ for silk tops, tweed jackets, sequin blouses, skirts and silk pants.
Shoes. There are several racks of shoes in the back assorted according to sizes. Prices of the shoes range from $100 to $10 for flip flops. There were plenty of beautiful flats ($65), wedges ($80), oxfords but again, the prices on these shoes were not delicious enough for a sample sale.
Bags: In the end section, there are boxes of bags containing large leather handbags ($120) and small leather handbags which included leather clutches and shoulder bags for $80. The bags selection was far more appealing than the shoes. We spotted an Edie Purse in various colors for $80 which is currently being sold online for $238, and Eddie Attache bag in Pecan for $120 which is currently priced at $288.
Bling, bling: Jewelry is the real eye candy at this sale and you will find some beautiful pieces to take home. The pricing of this section was budget friendly where simple necklaces are $25, bangles ($15), rings ($15), earrings ($25), bracelets ($25), and more elaborate necklaces are going for $60.
Men: This sale has plenty to offer for men, with button down shirts, racks of blazers, basic tees, polos and shorts. We took a brief look at this section and found that the prices are identical to the women section. Again, the clothing is not organized according to sizes so a lot of digging is required.
Accessories: As usual, there is a section for small accessories like scarves ($15), belts ($15), straw hats ($15), swimwear (bottoms and tops all mixed for $25), and belts ($15). There will be a section for sleepwear which will be put out on the public day and the prices were not disclosed at the moment since they were in process of setting up for the public day. There is also a section in the back for toddlers which included beautiful sequin dress for girls and shorts and button down shirts for boys all under $25.
All and all, this sale has something for everybody. The real gems are J. Crew's basic tee for $15 and blouses for $30. Also, the leather handbags that are currently being sold for more than $200 are around $120 and $80. And, not to forget, jewelry is beautiful and the prices are much more affordable comparatively to the shoes.
