Sorry GiltyGlam readers, I was swamped with school work but I finally took some time out to report on Theory and Helmut Lang Sample Sale. The sale is extended up till thursday, Feburary 10th on 93 Mercer. This doesn't happen so often that a sale is extended for another week but our guess is since there is so much merchandise left over, they rather extend their stay then to leave with massive amount of clothing. Also as I was trying on a few pieces in the open fitting room, I spotted our Australian actress Naomi Watts. As one can see that it's not only us running around for discounts, even Hollywood is discount savvy.
Now a bit more about the actual sale. There is a lot of Theory left over, about six to seven long racks, ranging from dresses, tops, dress pants, blazers, jackets, jeans and what not! Prices range from $269.99 for Jackets, $109 for dresses and $49.99 for T-shirts. The prices are pretty reasonable considering the brand makes really chic and classy stuff that can be worn day to night. Moreover, they had a few disappointing racks of Helmut Lang that offered a few pieces of tie and dye prints top, denim and jackets. There was nothing that I saw that was too appealing except the denim which had sizes from 24-28 going for $69.99. Usually, the sizes run a little smaller than normal, and the length is usually longer than the regular denim brands. They also had few pieces from some third party designers that are not advertised such as Gryphon and Haute Hippie and they were actually priced cheaper than Theory and Helmut Lang.
Overall, this sample sale is pretty good as it has a lot of merchandise and sizes. I would say to give it a few more days and you will see more discounts.
