*SALE UPDATE*

YSL kicked off its sample sale today for VIP and press preview. The sale is located in Soiffer Haskin, a much better location than Metropolitan Pavillion last year. When you walk in, there is a coat check and you will be prompted to the stairs to go to the sale-room. As you will walk in, you will see that everything is very well organized: left section is for the shoes, middle section for Women's clothing, and the section on the right is for Men's clothing, accessories, and bags.

Now towards the good stuff. There are plenty of shoes, spotted many tributes ($350) and tons of flats. There were boots ($350) and wellies (just $50 bucks, seriously!). There were tons of women apparel, sections were organized in small cubicles according to different sizes. They had plenty of dresses, t-shirts, blouses and coats. There were a section of Fur in the end of the room which were individually priced ranging from ($1500+).

The real hot stuff were the bags which there were tons of them and it had a limit of five bags per person including wallet. There were all sorts of bags such as totes, YSL muses ($700), clutches and wallets ($100). There was eyeglasses ($75), jewelry ($50), and there were small accessories such as tights, knits, ties which were all for $25.

For the men in your life, there was a small section of shoes ($200) which included dress shoes and sneakers and a section for clothing. The shoes were decent but clothing required a lot of digging to find a gem. The organizers of the sale said they will be replenishing shoes, bags and some clothing as often as they can.

Is it worth it? Any tips? Yes! It is totally worth a trip and perhaps, the wait.  There is something for everyone. If the prices are not appealing, make a trip towards the end of the week (read last year sale report), where prices will surely dip and so will the merchandise but in any event, it's totally worth digging for YSL. More detailed pictures of the sale and prices below. Enjoy!

  3. Anonymous 1: As my memory recalls, I saw a Chyc shoulder flap bag that was sitting in the exotic section in white however I didn't inquire on the price of that bag. But there were tons of muse, muse two, chyc clutch ($200), reversible totes in various colors and tons of YSL easys (leather -$600, fabric - $300)

Anonymous 2: I didnt see any Y-mail clutches but wallets, yes. They were going for $100 - last year, they were for $50, price doubled but still worth it!

I spoke to one of the organizers who said they will be restocking since they have a stock room. Tip for both of you, if you see hoarders carry tons of bags and you like one of them, just keep an eye on them. Most likely they will leave a few bags behind at the counter and then you can ask the cash register people for the merchandise. Good luck!
